About Our Client

As the risk manager of credit cards and personal loans you will ensure portfolio management and effective monitoring of personal lending lines to ensure risk is continually evaluated and mitigated

Overview of the role

The successful candidate will manage the credit quality for consumer lending relating to credit cards and personal loans ensuring portfolio management and effective monitoring of lending business. Review and manage internal MIS reporting to ensure planned business growth but keeping a balance in risk and reward equation.

Role and Responsibilities

• Design, modify, communicate and explain credit and lending policies which could anticipate/reflect market conditions to ensure improvement in the portfolio quality and profitability maximization.

• Continually develop management information and portfolio segmentation to clearly identify the risk drivers so these can be controlled to forecasted portfolio performance. Use data drive and statistical techniques as drive decision-making relating to credit decisions and portfolio management.

• Work closely with VC Managers to provide value added risk feedback to assist the business in achieving sustainable & profitable growth for all products.

• Provide feedback on risk matters concerning new products, changes to existing products (through the PDD process) and participate in the key business management/strategic decisions.

• Coordinate & Participate in country / regional and group initiated projects to have better credit culture.

Skills

You will be able to demonstrate at least 3 years in a similar role of credit / risk management for a consumer bank. You career to date will demonstrate previous experience of using credit tools and techniques to ensure risk is measured and continually mitigated. The desired candidate needs to be rational, pragmatic, disciplined and methodical. He/she will be solution oriented and able to persuade and influence colleagues and superiors of the validity of solutions proposed based on rational argument, supporting data. A working knowledge of credit scoring and management of scorecards to ensure continued validity and acceptable performance would be an advantage. Preference will be given to Bahraini nationals and Arabic speakers

Overview of the role

The successful candidate will manage and sustain a portfolio of large multi national companies and subsidiaries operating in the UAE. A key objective would be to build long term relationships with sustainable growth in revenues.

Role and Responsibilities

• Conduct strategic reviews with customers to assess their future financing needs and align the Bank’s products accordingly.

• Identify opportunities with existing customers and solicit new relationships

• Frequent calls on existing and prospective customers

• Maintain consistent dialogue with RDs at parent and subsidiary level.

• Determine key messages, e.g. agreed service standards, negotiated pricing, relationship team contact points and new product changes, deciding upon the most appropriate communication method

• Manage customer complaints and address these to mutual satisfaction of customer and the Bank.

• Determine the products that are most effective in meeting customers’ needs

• Research, create and follow up a target list for potential new business.

Ensure satisfactory audit rating for his/her portfolio. •

• Gather all the required information that is needed to prepare and assess credit applications.

• Control the quality of the portfolio, using available triggers and adherence to Risk management guidelines and policies.

Knowledge and Experience

• At least 10 years of experience in relationship management where sustained growth has been continually achieved.

• Demonstrated credit skills in managing complex relationships and dealing with credit seniors within the Bank.

• Ability to work with international relationship directors to deliver in-country expertise to their operations in the UAE.
